E3 ‘09: Sony Preps For Their Biggest Year Yet

June 4, 2009

Sony

Yikes, I have a lot to get to, here. Yesterday, Sony followed up Nintendo’s mediocre conference with their own press conference filled with huge announcements. While I still think Micorsoft stole the show with their Project Natal, Sony came in at a very close second, and it looks like the PS3 (and PSP) have their biggest year ahead of them yet. [Read more]

E3 ‘09: God of War III Impressions

June 4, 2009

The first thing you notice about God of War III for the PS3 when you play the demo is the immediate difference in the camera work. Everything that you’ve come to love about the series is either intact or enhanced.  Some of the attendees at E3 have been summing up the difference to a graphical overlay but overall everyone is satisfied.  The point is that if do buy the game for graphical reasons, in the least, you won’t be disappointed. The controls, sound and whatever makes God of War what it is remains intact and satisfying to anyone.

E3 ‘09: Uncharted 2: Multiplayer Hands-On Impressions

June 3, 2009

Planned for this year, Uncharted 2 for the PS3 is set to make waves with its new multiplayer mode. The first time I heard about the multiplayer I thought that this was going to be another slap on for a game, as developers look for ways to make me spend that 59.99. The multiplayr is anything but cheap but seems like a great addition to what could be the best title on PS3 this year. Sadly, the demo on the flow was limited to original video that was showcased some weeks ago, set on the same stage playing the same mode.

E3 ‘09: Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma Impressions

June 3, 2009

There was nothing new about Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma. Yes, it’s a new game for the PS3 but if you have played the Xbox360 version, you’ll miss out on two new characters, Ayane & Momiji, and online co-op mode. Yes, the game looks great but with the version on the E3 floor, the loading during the stages was annoying. Yes, the game still plays solid with a barrage of combos and ninjitsu techniques.

E3 ‘09: PixelJunk Shooter Hands-On Impressions

June 2, 2009

Pixel Junk Shooter is the next in line for the Pixel Junk series. The game retains the same look and feel as the other titles under the PixelJunk banner and approaches the shooter genre with some unique game play. It may not be a die hard “Schmup” like Soldner X but it can be challenging enough on its own. Pixel Junk Shooter doesn’t re-event the will but introduces rescue elements and environmental game play into the mix over beautiful cell shaded/vector based graphics.
