Batman - Dark Knight (Animatrix Style)

DC Universe, in conjunction with Warner Brothers, brings you an Animatrix style DVD/BluRay that tells the tale of The Batman in-between the first Movie and the New One coming out next week. Take your pre-orders out on Amazon while you can, this one is a must have for your Dark Knight Collection.

There are six stand alone chapters that hale from some of Japans’ greatest Directors, and Animators.  The directors who take a dive into the canon of the Batman universe includes Yasuhiro Aoki, Futoshi Higashide, Yoshiaki Kawajiri, Toshiyuki Kubooka, and Hiroshi Morioka. The stories are told by Josh Olson, Greg Rucka, Jordan Goldberg, David Goyer, Brian Azzarello, and Alan Burnett.  One word: Wow.  You can check out the official site for more here, and more details on the blu ray DVD here.

Just so you can understand the calibur of work you’ll get lets go over some of the work that the directors have covered, or contributed to, in the past.  Yasuhiro Aoki-San is well known for his works on titles like Beyond (Animatrix OAV), Mind Game (OAV) and You’re Under Arrest.  Futoshi Higashide-San has worked on the ever popular Giant Robo, Magikano, and Saber Marionette to name a few.  Yohiaki kawajiri-San worked on the Ninja Scroll Series, one of the best series ever made in Anime and Vamipre Hunter D.  Toshiyuki-San has also worked on Giant Robo, Gunbuster, and Mobile Suite Gundam 0080.  Finally, Hiroshi-San, has worked the .HACK// series, NieA 7 and the very famous Scrapped Princess (storyboard). The official release date for the DVD/BluRay is July 8th (of course).

    They all were really good my favorites are the 2 with the Scarecrow and Deadshot.

    yea them joints were off the hook! the animation was sick! this maybe DC animated’s best effort yet
