Check these new videos from the tokyo game show. Lost odyessey is looking sick with it’s smooth transiton from cg to real time. You can def’ see the big final fantasy influence with this one. And this intro remindsd me of the opening for the first lord of the rings movie but with a japanese twist. We also have a video of the Blue Dragon which is lookin’ damn tight! I love akira toriyama’s(dragon ball z) character designs. This game has a nice smooth look to it and a full vocal soundtrack while your battling the bosses! Will these heavy hitters get japanese gamers to finally embrace the x360? Only time will tell. Check the vids below
Thats right, the 360 has been officially upgraded to support 1080p resolutions. Read below!
” According to an official release by Microsoft at their Tokyo Game Show 2006 press briefing, the Xbox 360 will be able to support 1080p games and videos. According to the press release, the fall update will usher in the upgraded resolution capability.
“[Microsoft’s] fall software update, scheduled for release later this year, will allow all Xbox 360 consoles around the world to output game and movie content in 1080p resolution.”Which games will be released in the future that will support the higher resolution is still unannounced. 1080p is a visual upgrade over the Xbox 360’s current maximum resolution output of 1080i, or 1920 by 1080 interlaced. We’ll update as more details become available.”
Now Sony’s gonna have to tought more than 1080p resolution!!
For heads out there with fond memories of 2d fighters from back in the day, this is pretty much everything you could ask for from a fighter!!! Imagine just about any and every character from every fighting game duken’ it out head to head street fighter style! MUGEN has to be the illest mod ever created period. Straight from Wikipedia, heres an explination:
“M.U.G.E.N is a 2D fighting game engine designed by Elecbyte and originally released in 1999. Elecbyte distributed beta versions that ran under DOS, Linux, and Windows. The engine allows for anyone to create characters, stages and other game objects through interpreted text files and graphics and sound compilations and it also supports various types of audio formats such as MP3, ADX, OGG and MIDI as background music during gameplay. The engine allows for the type of functionality found in most any commercial 2D fighting game, such as the Street Fighter games produced by Capcom or the King of Fighters games produced by SNK. Creators of M.U.G.E.N content are from all over the globe, most notably including American, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, and French creators.”
And now that you have some idea what it is, words can’t compare to actually seeing it! Peep the video and witness the hottness that is MUGEN!!!!!!
Check out this xcellent video by “happyend” which showcases all the ill ass ways you can finish off your opponents from the snk game “Samurai Showdown V: special”. What i like most about this user submitted video is that it’s all in game sound effects with a nice japanese drum sound and has no “linkin park” or any other alternative/metal track blaring in the background. Watching this brings back the memories of all the sword clashing i did back in the day…ahhh the memories. Anyways sit back and enjoy the body slicing, blood spewing fun …oh and how many of these supers can you pull off?
If you ain’t familiar with the Dance Dance games by now, it’s time to crawl out from under the rock. These game have become a cult hit around the world and so some director out there found it necessary to make a movie based off the game. So in the vain of crap movies like “Bring it On” and “You Got Served” we now have…….. “La Maquinq de bailar”(translation anyone?). So far it’s got all the makings of a classic 80’s flick! You got your geek who becomes cool, mean bully guys with knives, girl next door who helps geek and then falls in love, and some old dude who’s like the old school dance master!!!! Watch the trailer and see for yourself!
I was sitting here thinking to myself about the illest intros from past games and said “hmm maybe i should post ‘em up to show people who may have not seen them”. And one of the first that came to mind was the intro to Onimusha 3. When i first saw this intro my jaw was completely scraping the ground. Im mean this jont was just plain sick! From the audio to the motion captures and renderings it was truly one of the best. So from time to time i’ll post up some intros for those who have yet to see them or may have missed ‘em. So sit back, relax and check it out, even if you’ve seen it before it’s still one that you can enjoy over and over again.
This is a old one but goodie! Check out this japanese commercial for square-enix’s final fantasy themed soft drink called “potion”. After seeing this i kinda would like to see a live action ff movie. What ya’ll think?
