The Conduit – The New York Comic Con Interview

This past weekend TrueGameHeadz was all over New York Comic Con. One of the games we were most excited to check out was Sega’s “The Conduit.” We had a chance to interview a couple of the guys that worked on the game. Check out what “The Conduit”‘s Chief Creative Officer, Eric Nofsinger had to tell Unit about the game.

If you want more on “The Conduit,” you can check out my hands-on impressions of the game that I posted earlier today.

    I have a bad feeling the conduit is going to lag like crap. Just like house of the dead overkill. I don’t think you can do decent (well decent for the wii) graphics on the wii and have good performance too. Since the hardware is.. not so hot.

    @RandomRay, I think that one of the things that The Conduit has going for it is the fact that High Voltage built their own engine to run the game. Also, lag and their online MP is a complete concern for them – they told me that every night after work they go home and play each other online testing it and working out the bugs – they want to create the best experience possible for the gamers.

    @RandomRay,
    Metroid Prime Corruption says hello! It’s a beautiful looking fps that has a lot detail and still manages a steady 60fps, and it’s all done on the underpowered wii. The only other fps this gen that runs at a consistent 60fps is Call of Duty 4. God of War 2 is a sick looking game that runs at 60fps, but is done on the less powerful ps2. It’s not about the system itself, it’s how well developers can use the tools they’re given.

    The game doesn’t lag, and the design is actually pretty fun. I’ve had hands on time with this baby. It makes Halo feel slow and sluggish. I wouldn’t knock it until you’ve tried it. The developers are on to something here.
