Kratos Brings Chaos In God of War III Launch Trailer

In case you missed it, yesterday was the big day, and “God of War III” finally hit store shelves. Kratos will finally be able to put an end to his long journey, and this trailer is a hell of a way to get amped about everything that the game has to offer. I’d tell you that you should check it out, but you’re probably too busy playing the game to be reading this site, which I completely and totally understand.

PlayStation Move Genius or Lame Copycat? What Will Nintendo Do?

Sony finally pulled the curtain away from their “motion control” solution yesterday and got the gaming public buzzing. Shouts of “Thief!, Copycat!, and Un-Original!” can be heard far and wide. While PlayStation fans tout the features that make their solution ‘better’ than the Nintendo Wii’s. So who is right and who is wrong?

I think it’s a bit more complicated than that. To borrow a line from the recent movie Brooklyn’s Finest, I think it’s a case of “Who’s righter or who’s wronger?” I made a statement to my fellow TrueGameHeadz, “I see why Nintendo is putting out another Mario Galaxy” and it immediately started a passionate discussion about Nintendo being an innovator and trumpeted for their achievements.

God of War Collection Review: Revisiting Old Times

God of War Collection

While there are a small handful of PlayStation 2 games still being released every few weeks, the console’s lifecycle is finally coming to a dwindling end. After nine years, and thousands of games, in the end there was only one franchise that stood out as Sony’s best first party offering for the platform, “God of War.” Coming along only within the last few years of the PS2’s life, Kratos’ epic first two games pushed the limits of what could be done in a video game, while presenting some of the most satisfying gameplay ever, making his two titles absolute must-haves for anyone that considered themselves a gamer. It has only been two and a half years since “God of War 2” was released, and we are only months away from “God of War 3” but Sony has gone and released yet another “G.o.W.” product that’s now a must-have for every PS3 owner in the “God of War Collection.” [Continue Reading]

Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? Review: That Title is Long Enough!

Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman

Ant farms are boring. When I was a kid, my friend begged his parents to get him one for months. Eventually, they caved, and I raced over to his house to experience the feeling of playing God to a bunch of insects trapped in maze. 15 minutes later, we decided we could have more fun by watching the latest episode of Walker: Texas Ranger. At first glance, “Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This?” is a lot like an anthill. You’ll dig tunnels beneath ground, micromanaging units, in hopes of creating the perfect ecosystem, but unlike an anthill, “Badman” has tons to offer, and anyone willing to try this experimental take on the creation/sim genre may never look at ant farms the same way again. Petition To Stop PlayStation Network Charging For Online

Yesterday I received a circular from someone on PlayStation Network; it was a petition detailing that PSN where going to start charging for use of the systems online capabilities. I tried to take this with a pinch of salt, but a small amount of digging showed it to be more than just harmless rambling.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Review: Almost Perfect

Naughty Dog’s “Uncharted 2 Among Thieves” leaves you breathless.  It’s tough to find a  game that mixes well proven game development techniques and leaves a solid impression on you. This is something that you can’t really understand this until you play the game.  With a much longer single player experience than the original, stronger visuals, tightened gameplay, on-line co-op and multiplayer, it’s near impossible not to like “Uncharted 2.”  [Continue Reading]

New inFamous Home Area and Firmware 3.0 Details

InFamous

Ready for exciting new PS3 fans? “InFamous” is coming to PlayStation Home! Still not excited, huh? We’ll I can’t blame you. Sony’s online community service has been less than revolutionary, and I couldn’t tell you the last time I spent some time within the walls of my virtual apartment, but Sony claims it’s doing great and continues to support it with some of its biggest exclusives. More PSP Go Questions Answered

PSP Go Mock Up

The release of the PSP Go is fast approaching, and while it had a great showing at E3, many questions remain surrounding Sony’s plans for the handheld and their strategies for supporting it. Some people think that the PSP Go will be in direct competition with Apple’s iPhone once it’s released, but Sony has yet to outline their plans for any available applications or app stores. E3 ‘09: Post E3 Thoughts From DW

If you ever had the opportunity I would highly recommend that you go to E3. While the cost of attending can be steep, I think that it would well worth it for anyone who plays and loves video games.  If you go their to work though, I’m sure you may look at the experience a little differently.  For those of us who don’t have to work when we attend, it’s can be a great experience.

I really enjoyed God of War 3. Wasn’t that expected?  Well being the last game in the series, Sony needs to out do themselves in every wa yet again.  With the way things look, it looks like they may just accomplish a three-peat.  I don’t think the game will any one “specific” desire of a gamer but it may do a good job of satisfying you mostly.  It was easy to play and fun maintaining everything you know about the series and adding some new gameplay mechanics here and there.  It may not have the visual fidelity of Heavy Rain but it is still impressive looking; especially when you consider the camera work and other visual tones added to the game.  Sony seemed to have been in full force this year and they had way more titles to show off compared to the last two E3 Shows.  If you haven’t seen the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves live demo during the E3 press conference, I highly recommend that you do.  Naughty Dog will go down in history as being one the greatest developers for Sony of all time.
