Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing: Super Sonic Karts

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing

Poor Sonic. He’s had such a bad run of games, and even worse run of racing games, that when “Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing” was announced most gamers just wrote it off as something not even worth trying. After all, “Sonic Drift,” “Sonic R,” and “Sonic Riders” aren’t a stellar line up of predecessors. However, Sega made the wise decision to open up the roster to include characters from outside of the Sonic universe, and that idea alone makes this game better than all the rest, but is that enough to make it a worthy purchase? Aliens Vs. Predator Review: Commence Intergalactic War

Aliens Vs Predator

Taking two classic science fiction action movies and mashing them together into one co-existing world is a daunting task, no matter what source material you’re dealing with. But, it’s particularly challenging when the overall concept is something that has been happening, at least in the imaginations of fans, for the last twenty or so years, and that’s exactly has been happening with the Alien and Predator franchises. Sure, they’ve had a few movies made about them together, but Sega’s “Aliens vs Predator” is the first time the two warring factions have ever made it into the hands of console gamers. That alone should raise a few eyebrows, but when you add into the mix the fact that the game offers players the ability to play as all three species; Xenomoprh, Predator, and Human, it should do a little more than just raise eyebrows. New Alpha Protocol Trailer Starts To Fill In The Plot

The often delayed “Alpha Protocol” finally has a release date, which means you’ll be able to play this massive game on June 1st of this year. Sega and Obsidian Entertainment have been showing off the game for a few years now, and it gets a little bit better every time I see it, and the trailer above should give you an idea of just what kind of grand scale, cinematic experience they have been working on all these years. Keep an eye on this one, it’s going to be some serious espionage fun.

Monkey Ball Mini-Games Go Bananas

Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll

What would a “Monkey Ball” game on the Wii be without mini-games? Just a whole lot of primates encased in balls looking for bananas I suppose. Either way, the new trailer for the upcoming “Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll” showcases some of the diversions from the balance board-based title that will be out in a few weeks. [Continue Reading]

Aliens Vs Predator Kills … Over And Over Again

Aliens vs Predator

It’s brutal. It’s graphic. It’s intense. But most of all, it’s awesome. Check out the trailer below for some of the amazing kills that will be appearing in the upcoming “Aliens vs. Predator.” Each species gets their own unique attacks, and this video clip highlights some of the best and most gruesome. Whether you’re a fan of the Predator, the Aliens (like me), or the humans, there’s a little bit of bloodshed just for you. [Continue Reading]

Bayonetta Review: Which Witch Is Which?

Bayonetta

The first time I saw “Bayonetta” was at last year’s E3, and, in all honesty, I wasn’t really impressed. I’ve never been a fan of the “Devil May Cry” games, and a game that played like those, starring a witch with magical hair just didn’t seem very appealing. After a short demo of the game behind closed doors, I walked away from Sega’s booth more interested in “Aliens vs. Predator” than some game from a bunch of guys that made that other game. But something happened over the last few months, as the hype began to build around the game, I started to realize that “Bayonetta” might actually be something I could enjoy, and, as the release date came closer, I was actually really looking forward to it. Low and behold, after a run through of the final product, it turns out that first impressions aren’t always right. [Continue Reading]

Infinite Space Trailer Is Infinitely Amazing

Infinite Space

Platinum Games is on a roll creating some of the most unique titles of the last couple of years. First there was “MadWorld” on the Wii, last week there was “Bayonetta” on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and soon there will be “Infinite Space” on the DS. It looks like Platinum is proving their range as well as their dedication with their first batch of releases as “Infinite Space” heads into … well outer space for RPG (space)ship building nerdiness. Check out the trailer and get a look at what you’ll be in for when the game drops on March 16th. [Continue Reading]

Aliens vs Predator Multiplayer Preview: Aliens FTW

Aliens vs Predator

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m hooked on “Modern Warfare 2”’s multiplayer. I feel like in the current gamer culture, there’s a bit of a stigma that comes with playing “MW2” online, but, for better or worse, I enjoy it. Since “Call of Duty 2” the “CoD” franchise has been a bit of an anomaly for me, mostly because they’re really the only multiplayer games that I regularly play online. Other than that, I’m usually a solo gamer. However, I recently had the opportunity to take a look at another game that I will soon be adding to my online roster, Sega’s “Aliens vs. Predator.” And it’s not because I’m a fan of the movies – because I’m not. Sometimes when the worlds of video games and music collide we get things like “Rock Band,” but other times, when the artists are directly involved, we get hot tracks like the video for “Reaping Beauty.” If you’re big on the indie rap scene you may be familiar with some of the artists involved in the “Bayonetta” inspired collaboration from MC Lars with a super-catchy hook. Beefy, Random and Tina Root join him on the track which oozes love for this week’s hottest release staring a sexy witch with magic hair.
