A Gamer’s Thoughts: Street Fighter IV’s Music

Whut up folks! Got some more “Street Fighter I”V talk. This time around it’s about the music selection within the game and the odd choice Capcom made with one of the tracks. Do you like the soundtrack, dislike it? Drop a comment below about your thoughts.

Watch Ryu And Alex Kick Ass In Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom!

Capcom is on a roll hot after TGS 2008. First with Street Fighter 4 which looks to please the old school Street Fighter heads and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom which looks to give fans of the insane combo fighting style something to be very happy about. In this latest video of the Wii version of the Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, we seen Alex and Ryu do some tag team damage on the crew from the classic series Gatchman. And it is looking pretty sweet. Can you say insane aerial rave combo!!!

Capcom vs. Tatsunoko video blowout!

Capcom is back with their latest tag team brawl fest, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. In these latest videos courtesy of Gamemanx from EVO 2008, we see just how the gameplay goes down. And from the looks of it fighting fans are in for a treat! That’s if this game manages to reach U.S. shores. For now peep the insane combos, air juggles and slick gfx’s in the videos below.

SFIV – Animation Clip (Spoilers)

If you don’t mind seeing some spoilers like myself, check out this long animated clip from the upcoming release of Street Fighter IV.  The thing is, the clip still still doesn’t answer the burning question: is Shen Long playable in the game?  However, all hints from the clip show him alive and well and given the time period in which this title takes place, it’s looking more and more plausible that the powerhouse will be playable.  In addition to Ono’s comment with EGM/1upShow that “we wouldn’t put such a high profile character in the clip if they weren’t accessible” makes you wonder even more.

*Update: STREET FIGHTER IV COMMERCIAL

UPDATE: the official trailer has been released, check it out below! I can say this game is starting to grow on me, especially with it’s online capabilities. Now, I have to hunt down a arcade stick!

SAN MATEO, CA – May 28, 2008 – Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that the first television commercial for Street Fighter® IV will debut during the CBS EliteXC Saturday Night Fights mixed martial arts (MMA) event. The EliteXC bout takes place on CBS on Saturday, May 31 at 9 PM EST. Immediately following the bout, the Street Fighter IV trailer will debut on the newly redesigned StreetFighter.com, along with the first chance for gamers to pre-order Street Fighter IV for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) computer entertainment system exclusively through GamesStop.

Street Fighter 4:new Rufus and El Fuerte pics

Capcom has released some new images of Street Fighter 4, this time spot lighting two of the new characters, big bellied Rufus and lucha libre wrestler El Fuerte. Also, you can see two new stages, a jungle and a 50’s styled diner. In the bellow images, El Fuerte appears to have a move were he pulls out a frying pan? I guess they still have some comedic elements in this version as well. These pics are from the arcade version but I’m sure the ps3, pc, and x360 will be arcade perfect ports, and then some.

WTF?! RYU vs. Gatchaman!

WOW! Someone was feeling a little left out with the fighting game crossovers! Capcom just dropped news about their latest crossover fight fest. Titled Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes, this game will mash capcom’s universe within the universe of one of Japan’s most famous animation studios. Now, if you’re not familiar with Tatsunoko you may be with some of their characters like SpeedRacer, Gatachamn (aka battle of the planets here in the u.s.), Casshern: Robot hunter and one of their most famous animes Neon Genesis Evangelion. If you want to know alittle more about the studio, you can check’em out here. There isn’t too much info known about this game yet but from what you see in the pics, it looks to bring back capcom’s popular tag battle system they used in previous crossover games (marvel vs. capcom, x-men vs. sf, amrvel vs. capcom 2,etc.). Also it seems they’re going with 3d characters and backgrounds on a 2d plane. I don’t think capcom is ready to embrace a full on 3d fighting game yet ala tekken or soul calibur and quite frankly, i have no problem with it… long live 2d!. Anyways this game will be hiting arcades across Japan this year and although only a couple of characters are shown, knowing capcom you can expect a sh*t load of characters from both worlds to select from. We’ll keep you posted on new videos and info once it comes. In the meantime enjoy the pics below.

Street Fighter IV Boss Screens

I don’t care if Chun Li is a hermaphrodite. Street Fighter IV looks HOT! It looks like devs are finally giving video games a different look. What started out as “Toon” shading, reached it’s pinnacle with The Legend of Zelda Windwaker, is now being re-invented daily on these “Next-Gen” systems. Joining the ranks of Okami, Dragon Ball Z, the newly announced Prince of Persia restart, Street Fighter IV seems to be a graphical showpiece.

Some may mistakenly call the graphics simple, but I call it EYE candy. I’mma shut up now because this entry is all about the pix. Feast.

In order of Street Fighter ll appearance:

My main my mizzle, Iron Mike… errrrm Balrog!

Balrog

Balrog

Balrog

Maybe heads will start picking him!

Wolverine’s cousin from another mother! Vega

NOICE!!!!

Now to one of my favorite characters to use: TIGER! TIGER! TIGER UPPERCUT! Sagat!

Splendid!

Now the Man. The Cheasyness. Balr.. Veg.. I mean Iron M.Bison!!!

That’s just too much goodness! Keep checking back for more news on Capcom’s next installment to the franchise.

Dave out!

Confirmed…Chun Li is a man!

Or at least it looks like it from these recent new photos of her from the official Street Fighter 4 blog. It appears her texture mapping has gone under a bit of change and now features a bit more detail in her hair and eyes as well as softer shading. But HOT DAMN, look at those hands! Capcom, WTF! I mean seriously folks, look at that opposable thumb. She can break a mans neck with those things. Gone is the beautiful Chun Li from Street Fighter 3 only to be replaced by this…this abomination. I don’t know what Capcom was thinking, but they used to be held in high regards for their illustrated art work. But since this whole 3D thing, they seem to have lost something in the translation. :(

Here’s a before and after comparison

Note the hands still remain FUGLY!!!!
