Must See: Toy Story 3 Movie Trailer

The Toys are back! Next summer Disney and Pixar will release the 3rd installment to one of their most popular cg films to date, Toy Story 3. The first film was Pixar’s 1st full length animated movie partnered with Disney. Toy Story became an instant classic and put Pixar on the map as one of if not, the best cg animated studio out to date. So naturally a sequel was made (which was also tight) and proved that they could create a another classic. With Toy Story 3, Pixar looks to continue their winning streak in the Toy Story franchise. Check the trailer below, Toy Story 3 hits theaters June 2010. [Continue Reading]

Must See Trailer: A Nightmare On Elm Street

Well, It looks like everyone’s favorite dream killer is back! That’s right folks, you knew it was gonna happen. A Nightmare On Elm Street is the newest horror film to be “re imagined” from it’s eighties counterpart. Taking on the role of Freddy this time is actor Jackie Earle (”Rorschach” from The Watchmen). From what I’ve seen in this trailer, this looks to be one of the better remakes. Especially after the disappointing recently released Friday the 13th. As a fan of the series (the good ones) I’m def’ excited for this, are you? A Nightmare On Elm Street drops sometime in 2010. Check out the first trailer after the jump. [Continue Reading]

Ju-on: The Grudge Preview With XSEED Games

Ju-on: The GrudgeTalk about scary games … “Silent Hill” has nothing on “Ju-on: The Grudge.” The developers at Feel Plus are pushing the limits of survival horror games, and making, what could very well be, the scariest game to be released on the Wii… ever. Based off of the movies from The Grudge’s universe “Ju-on” looks to extend that fiction in a highly interactive manner, with a “haunted house simulator.” Check out what Unit found out about the game from XSEED’s Jimmy Soga, and just how scary it’s going to be. Sam Rami Directing World of Warcraft Movie!

Wow talk about coming out of left field! Variety is reporting that Sam Rami (Spider-man 1-3, Evil dead, Drag Me To Hell) is set to take on the directing reigns for the upcoming World Of Warcraft movie.

From Variety:

Sam Raimi has signed on to direct “Warcraft,” the live-action film adaptation of the fantasy videogame franchise “World of Warcraft.”

Legendary Pictures and vidgame publisher Blizzard Entertainment are mounting the film, and Warner Bros. will co-finance and distribute. The team boasts an impressive pedigree: In addition to the director of “Spider-Man,” the partners have added “The Dark Knight” producer Charles Roven to the creative mix.

The plan is for Raimi to supervise development of “Warcraft” and shoot the picture after he completes work on “Spider-Man 4,” which gets under way early next year for Columbia Pictures.

The movie will be financed under the Legendary Pictures’ co-production and co-financing deal with WB, in a manner similar to the Todd Phillips-directed “The Hangover” plus the Roven-produced “Batman Begins” and “Dark Knight.”

Must See: Hot New Watchmen Trailers!

I think it’s safe to say that the era of horrible comic book/ super hero movies may be seeing its end. With the recent string of good to excellent movies (”Hulk,” “Ironman,” “300,” “Hancock,” “Hellboy 2,” “Dark Knight”), Hollywood seems to have hit its’ stride with this genre, and it looks like next year the trend is going to continue with the “Watchmen”. Based off of Alan Moore’s award winning graphic novel of the same name, “Watchmen” tells the story of “masked” vigilantes during an alternate version of the 1980’s (were Richard Nixon is still president) who must unravel the mystery behind the death of one of their former teammates. They also have to deal with the public, who hates them, and a legislation bill which was passed outlawing these “masked” heroes. The law forced most of them to have to either retire, work for the government, or continue fighting crime outside of the law. Obviously, the plot goes much deeper than what I’ve explained (it’s won several awards),  but I don’t want to spoil it for ya’. [Continue Reading]

New Trailer!…The Spirit

From the master of bringing that comic book feel and look to the big screens, comes Frank Miller’s (300, Sin City) latest film The Spirit. In this trailer we get a glimpse of the many women The Spirit comes in contact with and a look at ol’ Samuel L Jackson as the villainous Octopus. Now for those that don’t know, The Spirit is based off the 1940’s comic strips by Will Eisner. Here’s a brief synopsis below:

Adapted from the legendary comic book series created by Will Eisner, The Spirit is a classic action-adventure-romance written for the screen and directed by genre-twister Frank Miller. It is the story of a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead as the Spirit (Gabriel Macht) to fight crime from the shadows of Central City. His arch-enemy, the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) has a different mission: he’s going to wipe out Spirit’s beloved city as he pursues his own version of immortality. The Spirit tracks this cold-hearted killer from Central City’s rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront… all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill our masked crusader.
