DJ Hero Review: This DJ is hard as hell!

What more can I say? (No that Jay-Z track is not in the game… yet) The track list for the first iteration of “DJ Hero” (c’mon you know this is a franchise) is jam packed with 93 mixes of different songs that will definitely get your head bumping. However, of those 93 unique mixes, a few of the tracks have repeat songs heard in other mixes. Tracks such as The Aranbee Pop Orchestra – “Bittersweet Symphony” gets duo love when mixed with 2Pac’s “All Eyez on Me” and LL Cool J’s “Rock The Bells.” Now I’ll leave it up to you to say which one was best, but I’m rolling with DJ Jazzy Jeff’s “Bells”.

Jay-Z, MF Doom, Aseop Rock and Ocarina of Time??

This is why I love my pasttime as a gamer. It’s the whole culture around it and the many things the fans create surrounding this cool hobby! Take for instance this latest blending of two genres. Hip Hop and the all time classic Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. The folks over at Team Teamwork (love the play on words) found the need to lay some of Hip Hops famous mcees over some of the unforgettable samples from Ocarina of Time in their new mix cd “The Ocarina of Ryhme”. Amazing Hip-Hop Beats Remixed – 8-Bit Style

Ever wonder what some of your favorite hip-hop joints would sound like as bleeps and bloops coming out of your NES? Well, it’s about time you find out. Check out this track that takes some of the most famous beats in hip-hop and turns them into an 8-bit baller anthem. Man, something like this really makes you think about how great 8-bit soundtracks could be if they were coming out today.

It’s worth a listen if only to hear the “Dirt Off Your Shoulders” track.
