More PSP Go Questions Answered

The release of the PSP Go is fast approaching, and while it had a great showing at E3, many questions remain surrounding Sony’s plans for the handheld and their strategies for supporting it. Some people think that the PSP Go will be in direct competition with Apple’s iPhone once it’s released, but Sony has yet to outline their plans for any available applications or app stores.

Today, Sony helped shed some light on their agenda when SCEA PR manager Al De Leon spoke about the development process for applications on the PSP Go. While talking to CNET he stated that the cost of the development tools was greatly lowered so that more developers will have access to the system, thus allowing more applications of various experiences on the platform. De Leon states “It will be mostly games, but there’s certainly an opportunity to look at some non-gaming applications.”

Also in PSP Go news today is word of how much storage you may be able to get out of your PSP Go before extra memory is needed. De Leon also spoke on the storage space fo the system and commented on the average size of most games for the handheld. With an average size of 600-800MB, most gamers can expect to get over 15 games on their PSP go before searching for extra memory options. Of course, all this depends on whether or not the user has myriad applications or not. Also, it should be noted that the 600-800MB is merely an average size and not a parameter for what games should or should not be. So, gamers may find themselves downloading a game containing a GB or more.

    to answer some of your questions, the psp go will retail for $250.00 ( released this fall)
    the psp go will not be able to play psp’s umd games. the system will only play downloaded games. And gamestop might have some sort of deal where you’ll be able to trade in your old psp towards the GO.

    No touch screen, it’s smaller and lighter than the original psp. Plus it has a faster processor than the original psp.

    Will I be able to download games to the psp go using my blackberry? That would be a huge sales point. Being able to download while on the road would be great.

    I bought a psp 2006 from Singapore and the store added 50 games in 4 gb memory stick. Now i cann’t access those games, when i get back to my country(india). So far i haven’t used psp’s . Please help me how to get to those games.. how to play games in psp. I can see that memory card has been used up and only free space is available is 418 mb. Moreover i connected the psp to the system and make sure those games are there.. like need for speed ..etc… can you guys help me how to download games for this version and what are the steps i should do to play games in this beautiful psp.. ( please urgent)

    @vinu, where did u get yr psp from.. did you make sure that it is not the non modifiable ones…. Now there should be the new chickhen mod even if your psp aint modifiable…
