Last week in Gaming … Consoles?
What’s going at the WII camp - not that much, not that little either. I think that GT should go easy on the Mario Galaxies trailers, I use to actually enjoy seeing a new mario stage for the first time but I may see the entire game online if I’m not careful. Hmm what else is there - table tennis got announced. You know … that rockstar game that was almost impossible to play on a 360 controller has finally found a home worth living in. If it aint broke bring it. XBoX360 - echoes of Ninja Gaiden continue to reverberate as Ps3 fanboys are continually bullied by 360 fanboys, and eventually spawn a WII fanbaby that thinks they are wasting time and should spend more time with their games.
Then came the madness that is Spiderman 3 BR HD Trilogy. It’s true, its the sole replacement for that pain in the side loss of transformers that you want to add to your collection because you drive around in an Escalade that sports a Decepticon logo on both sides of your black gas guzzler. There’s no shame to your game, you own all systems and the world is not complete because you can’t have what you want and there’s nothing you can do about it. Especially if you wanted to own this Winter’s copy of Rock Band for PS3. Throw more money at the publishers and pick up the PS2 version to solve your troubles.
I was even more at shock that Uwe Bull had the ‘ghast to come up on The Bonus Round to go toe to toe with Geoff. The man does ask the hard question but surprisingly, Uwe kept his cool, stood his ground and was never phased, even though he is known to have a short temper. I can’t help but say it … I was … very impressed. But!!! Still not as impressed by the SP Edition of the DMC 4 - emmm light sourcing in 2D [drools]

Delicious. Surely what a would be GameStop register keeper wasn’t thinking while being dragged out of his store, defending a brand new PS3. The things some of us will do. It’s rediculous but people go far for anything these days. Nothing new track wise from Polyphony digital but the race fields of the world haven’t changed for some decades now either. Which makes me wonder, since GT is a driving simulator, should they include more fictional tracks or focus on that real life ones? Hmm, both bills are in order because people love choice but the old tracks should stay as they make sense that they should. Strange though that you can get 40 cars for now. This can be a good thing or a bad thing for some people. Still, the new screens proves that this is hands down the most beautiful looking racer out there that you can’t race; 200,000 polygons per car and all.
The car is a beautiful but that illusive Firmware 2.0 for the PS3 can’t cramp Sony’s style any further. At this point, several have wondered, “Whats the point?” Still, like anything else, look at this November’s line and consider last years lineup. Reminds me of Texas for some reason and a girl named Charlotte. However, Sony should take heed to its fans [and they have listened in the past] and consider these crying requests -
- I want to play music over my games.
- One shameless user says that he wants to “access my main system menu in game, during music, during online, during chat, during whatever the fuck I’m doing on my PS3 man.” [Note the quotes, these are not my thoughts]
- Another gamer wants sensible game invite system while playing but that perhaps will come from work done by Sony [foundation] and developers [games].
- A female gamer wants to cusomize her “avatar icons for the XMB bar, I think the Sony selections are horrible expressions of art.”
- Another gamer was “in-game XMB access!!” [we said that alread but he wants it to.]
- I want support for BluRay 1.1 and 1.3a or 1.3b and beyond … not much to ask I’m sure.
