Far Cry 2 - 50KM^2 SandBox
If you didn’t know by now, Far Cry 2 is an ambitious title entirely open-ended and non-linear. Instead of using individual maps, the game will take place in a sprawling nondescript land in Africa, with terrain ranging from savannas, jungles, dens, and more. The gameplay area will be around 50 km2! That’s about 31.06 miles! If you’re not satisfied with a Sandbox that big, then I don’t know what size is reasonable. The idea of just having that huge of a playground is the stuff of the dreams.

Eating grass and drinking water in the wild never look so good. It’s obvious from that presentation alone that UBISoft wants to push the boundaries of the genre.
