And you thought the warz were done …

Remember hearing someone say that BRDVD and HDDVD warz were over? Well think again. Everyone is now in the - “lets pick sides” mode “and throw snow ballz at each other come this winter.” With that in mind, Fox and MGM have officially pledge exclusivity to BR. That’s just the way the executives want it - competition. And that’s perhaps good, because maybe HDDVD sales will catch up, but several of us know that may never happen. I heard about discs that can play on both players a while back, no word on that, but it would surely shatter the idea of a media war right about now.

Interesting enough, Paramount and Dreamworks have pledge full support to HD-DVD!!! That means they will be getting Transformers and one cannot forget the powerhouse that is the Shrek movies! This format war is far from over! Check out the news here HD DVD gets more support.

From your first comment, when you say they are supporting it in full, does that mean that they are “supporting HDDVD in full only?”
And I agree, this summer belonged to Paramount and others. I saw the Bourne Ultimatum last week, and after thoroughly enjoying that flick, I heard that it won’t make it to BR. But then again, I enjoyed Die Hard, and I heard that it wont’ make it to HDDVD. Foolishness corporate America, foolishness.
Personally all this is ridiculous. I do know this, that once HD TV’s start to catch up to the resolution on those Dell Monitors [~4000*~2K] in progressive mode, that a 50GB disc will make more sense. So we’ll perhaps see future upgrades to HDDVD if it stays around.

Yeah the are supporting it exclusively, just follow the link in my comment to read the official statement. And i agree, it’s getting kinda stupid now. The question is, how fast will be the adaption rate for those Dell Monitors??? HDTV’s still haven’t taken off here in the US and around the world as fast as people thought. The only country is th UK! But they like to spend money out there on lavish things.

That’s just stupid… I mean, there are what, over 10 million ps3 owners world wide already, thats’ like saying -
“I don’t want to sell chocolates cuz only 10 million people like chocolate.”
Indeed, not everyone cares for the THX upgrade but several owners have admitted that even watching the discs on SD sets shows off huge differences in quality. Those Dell monitors are too flipping expensive but fuck they are beautiful. I want one :D, but I already own two flate screen monitors so I can’t be greedy. Don’t fooled, Americans like to spend money to - if the price and the product is right :D.

Actually the PS3 has only sold just over 4 million units World Wide.
